| Israel with its
lengthy experience in tank wars, had equipped its tanks with the best known canon of that
time, the Vickens L7 105mm. However, the Arab armies surprised the Israeli by using such lightweight anti-tank weapons as the Sagger missiles and the RPG7 rocket-launchers. As a consequence, hundreds of Israeli tanks were destroyed.
